The announcement was made via the official Fall Guys Twitter page. You can check out the tweet below. “Just spoke to my friends in the server team and we have at least 120k people connected to the game right now,” the tweet reads. “We’re currently beefing up our servers to cope with all of the beans who want to fall.” For those who haven’t heard much about Fall Guys yet, it’s a multiplayer party game where said beans are cruelly and hilariously subjected to the stalwart laws of physics. “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout flings hordes of contestants together online in a mad dash through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains,” reads the official Steam description. “Battle bizarre obstacles, shove through unruly competitors, and overcome the unbending laws of physics as you stumble towards greatness. Leave your dignity at the door and prepare for hilarious failure in your quest to claim the crown!” On that note, Fall Guys clocked 56k concurrent players on Steam alone. At the time of writing it’s got 22k players, which is ginormous for a newly-launched indie game. Forget the likes of John Halo and Geralt of Rivia, everybody wants to be a klutzy bean now. Fall Guys features both free-for-all and cooperative modes, separating its competitive hilarity into two distinct styles. If you want to laugh at random people falling over, you can dive into the former. If you’re all about watching your mates get whacked by giant footballs, though, you’ll likely love the co-op. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on PC and PS4. It’s free on the latter as part of the PS Plus August bundle. I reckon I might jump in myself later on.
